I am happy to host the 80 Women turn 50 at the River Barn in the Shenandoah Valley.  It is a 100 year old barn that has been converted into a house.  I have attached a few pictures to give you an idea of what the place looks like.  It was totally remodeled five years ago and has 5/6 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and lots of couch space to sleep many.

There are quite a few activities to do in the area:

 - Vineyards and wineries abound.

 - Historical landmarks within a 1 hour drive include Monticello (Jefferson's home), Ash Lawn (James Monroe's Home), Montpelier (James Madison's Home)

 - James Madison University and UVA

 - Civil War Battlefields - New Market and Cross Keys

 - Spas ranging from local spas to Boars Head Inn and Massanutten Resort

- Natural Wonders and scenic sites - Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive

- At least a dozen golf courses within 20 miles

- Antiques in every direction

Everybody can do their own thing or we can schedule group activities.  Most importantly, there is a lot of room to relax, visit and reminisce.

The Barn is located near the town of Shenandoah, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley.  Here is a mapquest link with the location Click here: Map of [300-385] S Fork River Rd Shenandoah, VA by MapQuest  This star is very close to where our house is.  Our address is actually 400 South Fork River Lane, Shenandoah, VA 22849.

We are about a two hour drive from Washington, DC or Richmond, about 1 hour from Charlottesville.  The airport in Charlottesville currently has service from Northwest, United, US Air and Delta or their partners.  If you plan to fly into DC, Dulles is more convenient.  Richmond airport keeps you out of Northern Virginia traffic…
